At age seven his love for Elvis is sparked by his Dad’s record collection which encourages him to learn the guitar. The Piano in his parents’ house opens up a different musical approach for him. The foundations are laid.
Further acoustic discoveries like, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Cure and last but not least Einstuerzende Neubauten lead him towards experimental music.
In the following years he establishes a venue to further his experimental music
« NY » « Raum fuer Kunst und Neue Musik ». First in Bremen and 2 years later in Berlin.He takes part in festivals for experimental music and works with Experimental Short film directors.
The King sinks into oblivion.
In the Year 2000 his childhood love for « The King » kicks in, as he is offered a part as Elvis in a theatre play. English writer and director Jean-Paul Pacifico, casts Nicholas Young as an Elvis impersonator in his Elvis comedy « Takin´ Care of Business ».
The play is a Hit in Berlin-Friedrichshain, and Young enjoys his role as « The King » so much that after the play´s great success, he decides to simply stay Elvis.
Ever since then « The Soul of Elvis » is on a constant mission to hail and praise the work and heritage of the greatest singer and entertainer of the last century. Elvis Presley.
With respect and honour for his Idol, good knowledge and a Big Hunk ´O´ Irony, Young breathes life back into Elvis.
At the gigs he excites the crowds, be it in the Berlin clubs or at company galas.
On his summer tours through Spain he entertains mainly British tourists.
Even 14year olds cry for an encore. The smaller kids can’t do anything but love
Elvis. The Girls throw themselves at his feet (as they always do with Pop stars)
